| Lincoln Schools has been informed that the Washtenaw County Road Commission project to replace the Willis Road bridge will NOT be complete before school begins on September 4th. The project is expected to be complete by mid-September. This will drastically affect traffic patterns during school drop off and pick up times. Keeping student safety at the forefront, the Washtenaw County Sheriff Department will have an increased presence on campus to enforce existing traffic rules. For the safety of our children and staff, please obey all traffic signs and personnel. We are encouraging students to ride Lincoln school buses where available to alleviate on-campus traffic. Thank you. |
During the closure, a signed detour is in place directing motorists to use Whittaker Road, Textile Road, and Stony Creek Roads. Railsplitter Drive is for local traffic only. Drivers are also reminded that the posted speed limits are reduced on Willis and Whittaker Roads from 45 mph to 25 mph during the following times:
- 7:10 – 8:50 a.m.
- 2:40 – 4:20 p.m.
The school day at Lincoln High School and Lincoln Middle School begins at 7:41 a.m. Students can enter the building starting at 7:25 unless participating in before-school activities. After 7:41 a.m. students must enter the building at the main entrance. All other entrances will be locked. A parent signature is needed for excused tardy after school begins. Students entering the school without a parent signature will be marked UNEXCUSED TARDY.
In an effort to improve traffic, we are asking anyone dropping off or picking up students, or visiting Lincoln High School to avoid using Railsplitter Drive and use the posted detour. The student drop off for Lincoln High School is the front (south) parking lot off Willis Road. When entering the south parking lot, the entrance and exits are posted one-way. Enter the parking lot at the east entrance and exit at the west exit, for the duration of the road closure you must turn right only on to Willis Road when leaving the parking lot.
As always, the Secondary Bus Loop (behind Lincoln High School) is CLOSED to parent drop off before/during school hours. Only staff/faculty parking is permitted in the rear parking lot behind the high school.
Drivers using the LMS drop off loop must turn right only when exiting the loop. Staff will be directing traffic during drop off and pick up times.
Drivers using the LMS gym entrance for drop off/pick up must turn right only when exiting the parking lot.
The school day at Bishop, Brick, Childs, and Model Elementary buildings begins at 8:51 a.m. Students can enter the building starting at 8:45 a.m., unless they are participating in the Bemis Farms before-school care.
As always, the Elementary Bus Loop (off Whittaker Road) is CLOSED to parent drop off before/during school hours.
Bishop, Brick, and Childs Elementary buildings have designated “Student Drop Off and Pick Up" areas. It is designed for DROP-OFF/PICK UP AND DRIVE-AWAY ONLY. In order for this procedure to work you must drive single file along the curb. Once you enter the loop, you are required to pull up to the furthest point possible to keep traffic moving. Do not stop in front of (or as close to) the door as you can. You are not allowed to exit the vehicle at any time. Children should exit the vehicle on the curb side and no walking in between cars. There is absolutely no parking or standing in this loop. You may wait to see that your child enters the building safely but must swiftly move on after that.
To accommodate increased parent traffic on the first day of school, overflow parking will be open behind the Maintenance Building off of the Brick Elementary parking lot. Follow the posted signs.
